This authentic Chinese Republic period fencai (famille rose) porcelain figure features a hand-painted scholar adorned in meticulously detailed ceremonial robes. Originating from the historic porcelain capital of Jingdezhen, the statuette exemplifies the vibrant, textured enamel palettes and fine brushwork characteristic of early 20th century export artistry. The unglazed base bears the traditional iron-red "Wang Cha Ji Zao" (王茶記造) workshop seal alongside the stamped country-of-origin mark required for Western custom entry. Showcasing expert craftsmanship, the figurine is further accented by intricate painted motifs along the hems, traditional scholar accessories, and a polished black coiffure with a classic topknot. A classic piece of Asian decorative art, it serves as an excellent representative example of private kiln craftsmanship produced for the international market during the 1920’s, bringing a sophisticated touch of historic oriental elegance to any fine collection.
