This authentic, early 20th century antique wooden carnival knock-down milk bottle target carries a fantastic, untouched historical pedigree. Hand-turned from solid hardwood, this particular bottle is a rare "gaffed" or "rigged" midway game piece featuring its original poured-lead weighted plug visible on the bottom. Carnival operators secretly placed these heavy bottles at the base of three-bottle pyramids to absorb baseball impacts and keep the game rigged against players. The wood showcases a great patina and exceptional character, defined by its natural weathering and time-earned hairline drying cracks. A premier addition for collectors of vintage Americana, circus and carnival memorabilia, gambling oddities, or primitive country decor.
