Up for sale is a Vintage Circa 1970 American Studio Art Pottery Stoneware Mingei Style Floral Motifs Small Weed Pot Vessel! It measures 3 1/2” tall. The piece is in excellent overall condition with minimal signs of wear consistent with its age and use. Please message us if you have any questions. Thanks!

Hand-thrown circa the 1970’s, this vintage American studio pottery weed pot vessel exemplifies the strong influence of Japanese Mingei folk art aesthetics on mid-century Western ceramic artists. The piece features a distinct, repeating wax-resist floral wheel motif encircling its midsection, contrasting beautifully against a finely combed stoneware body finished in a speckled, iron-rich glaze with warm amber, toasted caramel brown, and subtle olive undertones. Sculpted with a plump, bulbous body and a narrow pinched neck designed specifically to display dried botanicals or single wildflower stems, it highlights the raw, earthy charm of 1970’s studio ceramics. The wire-cut, unglazed flat foot base exposes the grainy, natural clay body, making this a compelling accent for collectors of mid-century studio pottery, organic modern decor, or brutalist craft ceramics.
