This vintage Chinese Peking Opera mask, dating from the 1970’s, serves as a striking and highly displayable example of traditional Asian folk art and historic theatrical design. Hand-crafted from lightweight molded papier-mâché, the piece displays a classic Lianpu facial makeup pattern rendered in bold black, crisp white, soft blush pink, and subtle orange accents. The design features dramatic, sweeping eye surrounds alongside fine feather-like brushwork fanning across the brow and forehead, complemented by a contoured mustache shape, full facial framing, and stylized lips. Cut-out eye openings, defined nasal contouring, and distinct facial molding create an expressive, three-dimensional profile that accurately captures the rich character heritage, dramatic symbolism, and vibrant spirit of classic Beijing Opera performances for decorative display.
