This is an authentic, rare piece of Mississippi Gulf Coast heritage: an original painting on a rustic wood panel created by renowned regional artist Robin Case, who lived and worked extensively along the historic Biloxi waterfront. Crafted prior to the devastating region-wide losses of Hurricane Katrina, pre-2005 coastal works by Case are highly sought after and increasingly hard to find. Titled "Racing to Ship Island," this vibrant artwork beautifully captures two common bottlenose dolphins leaping high into a swirling, cloud-filled sky above stylized turquoise waves, evoking a classic scene in the Mississippi Sound. Celebrated for her expressive and whimsical style, Case's elongated vertical composition emphasizes the dramatic upward motion of the marine wildlife, hand-signed by the artist in the lower corner and authenticated with handwritten artist notes and date on the reverse wood backing. The piece is safely housed in a custom, textured mottled teal frame featuring a complementary pink inner liner that frames the artwork perfectly. A stunning, ready-to-hang piece of fine folk art, it is ideal for collectors of Southern regional art, coastal beach house decor, or nautical enthusiasts alike.
